Before you start
The usual questions.
- How does logging a meal from a photo work?
- You connect MacroCrumb to ChatGPT once. After that you send a photo of your plate in the chat, ChatGPT reads what is on it, and the entry appears in your food log. You can correct the amounts afterwards.
- Does MacroCrumb keep my photos?
- No. With the ChatGPT connector the photo never reaches MacroCrumb at all. If you upload a photo in the app instead, it is deleted as soon as the analysis finishes or fails.
- Do I need to pay for the photo analysis?
- Not to MacroCrumb. The analysis runs on your own ChatGPT subscription through the connector, or on your own OpenAI key in the app. MacroCrumb never holds an AI key of its own.
- Can I log a meal without a photo?
- Yes. Save a meal once, as a list of ingredients or as macros per 100 g, and log a portion of it in a tap. Free-form food takes a description and its macros.
- Do I have to weigh everything?
- Only what you want to be exact about. Give a meal a default serving and log it by servings, or type the grams when it matters.
